The adventure begins!

           The smell of bacon sizzling.  The minute it touches the hot pan and screams, “here I come!” and the smell of crisp, smoky, mouthwatering bacon fills your nostrils. Most of us don’t remember the first time we had it, but you’d recognize the alluring smell from a mile away. The first rain of the winter, and you think to yourself how great it would be to be home, warm and snuggled up, with a good movie and bowl of tomato soup with a grilled cheese, for dipping purposes, of course. Long story short, food memories. Nostalgia. Some of my most fond memories take place around a dinner table, or in the kitchen. Like when you are at a party and everyone ends up in the kitchen, food brings people together. I love the happiness and pleasure that cooking for people brings to my life. Biting into something, and the taste bring you back to a moment in time. When people take a bite of my food, close their eyes and savor the first bite. I like taking classic comforts and putting a twist on them, however big or small. My Pops was a chef and taught me everything I know. He teaches me technique and how to really appreciate everything that comes along with food. Textures, flavors, history…It’s no longer just something we need to survive, it’s a culture all its own.
